Fade, Taper, or Buzz: Choosing a Cut That Fits Stamford Life

Three cuts, three upkeep levels. Here is how to match the style to your week.

Most guys pick a cut because it looked good on someone else. That is the fast track to a style you cannot maintain. Match the cut to your week, not to a photo.

A fade is sharp and clean. It also grows out fast. Plan to be back in the chair every two to three weeks, or the blend goes blurry and the line goes soft. If you work in an office or client-facing role in downtown Stamford, the upkeep is worth it.

A taper leaves length at the sides and tightens only around the ears and neck. It grows out gracefully. You can stretch it to four or five weeks without it looking neglected. Good middle ground for most guys.

A buzz is the lowest maintenance cut there is. It is honest and fast. The trade-off is no styling — what you see is what you get. Pair it with a lined beard and you still look put together.

Tell us how many haircuts you actually want per year. We will point you to the cut that fits that number.
